Explore finding game only through Yes And.
This workshop looks at the game of the scene from a different perspective that can enhance your play in conjunction with the more standard approach to learning game (establish your base, find an unusual thing, justify, heighten, etc). We’ll look to do all of those things without trying to, simply by focusing on our scene partner and supporting their contributions enthusiastically.
Prerequisite: HIT Level 1 or some improv experience.
Terry Withers
Terry is a long time improv comedy rat who got his start at the famed UCB Theatre in NYC, where he performed, taught, toured and worked in upper management. While there he was a part of popular shows and teams like Fuck That Shit, The Terry Withers Mysteries and Sandino.
More recently he created a bunch of fun shows which had wildly unprofitable runs in NYC. Unsatisfied with the money he lost in NYC, Terry took his shows on the road so that he could lose money with improv all over our fine nation. He has consulted extensively with multiple regional improv theaters on best business practices, led lots of improv based professional development events, mentored multiple college improv teams and blogged about improv more than once!
